Why we cannot be copied
No nickel plant in Russia commercially processes metallurgical slags with recovery of metallic nickel.

Nickel and copper-nickel waste already contains valuable components (chromium, cobalt, molybdenum). During remelting they are retained, eliminating the need to purchase them separately for mandatory alloying.

We use gas furnaces, and gas is significantly cheaper than electricity. Moreover, remelting waste in gas furnaces requires up to 75–80% less energy than multi-stage mining, beneficiation, and nickel smelting from ore.
LOWER ENERGY COSTS
Secondary raw materials have a high target element content (in our case, 5−24%). In natural ores, nickel content rarely exceeds 1−3%, requiring the processing of enormous volumes of waste rock.
